Educational Groups

Self-development classes are offered in a small group setting to explore self-esteem, confidence, self-motivation, active listening, assertive communication, conflict resolution, problem solving and goal setting.

The education consultant in human relations training, Lola Mitchell, guides class participants in a learning process for adults in life/career transitions, to develop a self-determined plan for self-acceptance, personal power, and personal growth. Her training philosophy is based on "developing the whole person". The two self-development classes currently offered are "Life 101" in the Spring and "Assertive Communication 101 and 102" in the Fall. The evening meeting classes are 2-hour workshops, 6:30 - 8:30 PM.

Spring Course: Life 101 - Renewing our Self-esteem and Confidence to Manage and Resolve Conflict Situations.

This 6-week course will focus on developing our skills to handle change and manage life and career transitions. We will learn conflict resolution skills, learn how to fight fair in our relationships, and discuss how intimate relationships fail. If you are seeking a sense of renewal of balance in your life, make registration for this class one of your new year's resolutions.

Fall Course: Assertive Communication 101 and 102.

A 7-week course designed to build assertiveness skills to gain confidence in your communications with others and reduce stress in your life from difficult situations. Do you second guess yourself, wonder if someone is playing games in your interactions, or think you are being manipulated? Skill building can lead to having more satisfying outcomes and stronger relationships in your life with your children, family, friends, and co-workers. If you are motivated to develop more self-confidence in your communication skills, you want to register for this class.
